Strong Families:
Building a More Family-friendly Pennsylvania
Rebuilding Marriage
The strength of families in many ways depends on the strength of marriages. Pennsylvania Family Institute works to strengthen marriage and diminish divorce in several ways:
- Educating on the benefits of marriage and the harm of divorce
- Promoting righteous marriage policy and tax laws
- Encouraging Community Marriage compacts
- Defending traditional marriage from attack.
Restoring Fatherhood and Family Time
Through leadership of groups such as the National Fatherhood Initiative, Pennsylvania Family Institute has a growing body of resources to help encourage responsible fatherhood. We also focus on family time, advancing the understanding that families need to be together.
Renewing Virtue
We are all suffering as a result of our nation's virtue deficit. Pennsylvania Family Institute speaks boldly in the marketplace, encouraging a return to the values and principles that protect children and undergird our liberty. We have an enhanced focus on pastors and youth. New efforts will include
- The Pennsylvania Prayer Network: Coordinating prayer for those in authority (I Timothy 2:1,2)
- City on a Hill: Intensive, hands-on worldview training for teens
- Training college-level interns in public policy work.
Responsible Citizenship
A keystone in our first 20 years has been to encourage Pennsylvanians to practice responsible citizenship -- to be informed and involved in issues impacting families. Those efforts will continue, enhanced in the following ways:
- Expanded use of technology, with interactive Web sites and Internet audio and video
- Greater Voter's Guide distribution
- Community Impact Communicator Network assistance
