Pro Life Bill Passes. Don't forget to say thank you!

June 6, 2013

Yesterday, the State Senate passed House Bill 818, a bill prohibiting your tax dollars from subsidzing abortion coverage in the new health insurance exchanges, with a bi-partisan vote of 31-19.

Opponents of the bill, including Planned Parenthood and the ACLU, supported weakening amendments that would have killed this important pro-life legislation. These two amendments were defeated and the bill passed in its original language.

Votes against these amendments and for the final passage of HB 818 were a true pro-life vote. Votes for any of the weakening amendments undermined the intent of the bill.

Key for the voting chart:
Green = Pro-life, Pennsylvania Family Council supported vote.
Red = Pennsylvania Family Council opposed vote.

If your Senator voted "no" on the weakening amendments, and "yes" for final passage, please thank them by clicking on this link.
